Photography
Welcome to my lifelong hobby of photography! Below are a few pictures of my travel adventures of morning sunrises over the Atlantic ocean, glowing moons, birds in flight, beautiful beach flowers, marine life, flashes of lightning, and more! Taken on the many shores of Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and all along the North Atlantic coastline in New England, USA. I am also a photographer for individuals, families, artists, and weddings in studio and outside in natural light
I have been taking pictures most of my life, and come from a family of photographers. I mainly take pictures outside in natural light of the ocean, marine life, wildlife, landscapes, family gatherings, and friends.
Growing up in a family of experienced 35mm film photographers, I developed a great appreciation for photography and art. However, I didn’t start with 35mm film! I began my photography hobby with a Polaroid Instamatic camera!!! Outside of it being heavy, it was easy to take pictures with a Polaroid Instamatic. When my uncles worked for Polaroid, the family got to try the newly invented Polaroid Instamatic cameras. I remember taking pictures with a Polaroid camera around six or seven years old! It was so incredibly cool to see a picture appear on Polaroid instant film!! It was great fun for the entire family. It was not until several years later that I got my first 35mm film camera.
I started learning 35mm film photography in my teens. It was challenging at first, but the quality and clarity of the images were incredible and worth the effort. Most photographers like myself were still using film photography in the 1970’s through the 1990’s. When digital photography began emerging, the quality of digital images were not as good as film, so most of us photographers continued with 35mm film for many more years. Eventually, with advancements in technology, the quality of digital photography dramatically improved, and most photographers today have moved to digital cameras. Many photographers, myself included, still prefer 35mm film quality over digital, regardless of the cost or developing, but generally use digital today.
